Paul Mercier is a globally recognized Voice Actor with rigorous training and degrees in Classical Ensemble Theater from Adelphi University in New York and The Guildhall School of Music & Drama in the UK. He has performed live on a variety of stages including Sketch Comedy in Cabarets and Night Clubs as well as developing characters with emerging playwrights at L.A. Theater Works andThe Mark Taper in Hollywood. But after he & his wife started a family, VoiceOver became the mainstay and he built the first of four home studios he shares with internationally known Voice Actor Paula Tiso. He’s now the primary recording engineer at Rich Corinthian Audio and soundBOX: WestSide. From there they partnered with WB Global Publishing to provide voices and create Sound Design for DC Super Friends, Looney Tunes, and “SCOOBY-DOO YOU\PLAY TOO BOOKS!” Interactive readers.
If you listen carefully, you’ll also hear him voicing characters for ADR and Loop Groups in hundreds of TV episodes and Feature Films starting way back with the O.G. Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place. His voice is nationally known to the television and radio audience narrating documentaries for the National Geographic Channel and Discovery Networks, broadcast commercials for Lowes, Coffeemate and Toyota; Network Promos for ABC, CNN, and another cable news network that disappeared without a trace.
Anime fans may know him as Hamber in POKEMON HORIZONS, Bear in .HACK, ChiMama in BURN UP EXCESS, and other roles in VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU, SUPERCROOKS and UBER BLATT. And with the current popularity of Live Action dubbing he can be heard as the English voice in shows like Murder Mindfully, Iron Reign, and the 10 Days of a Bad Man Trilogy on Netflix; Suspicious Minds, The Manipulated, and the Lions of Sicily, on Hulu/Disney+; 30 Coins, Oh Hell, and The Griffen on HBO Max; The Envoys, Prisoners, and The Book of Solutions on Paramount+; and The ‘Culpables’ Trilogy (My Fault, Your Fault, Our Fault) on Amazon Prime But Gamers most likely recognize him from the CAPCOM franchise RESIDENT EVIL as Leon S. Kennedy in RESIDENT EVIL 4, BIOHAZARD 4, RESIDENT EVIL: THE DARKSIDE CHRONICLES and the Feature Film RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION. Also as Specter in the Sony Interactive Entertainment franchise SOCOM: U.S. NAVY SEALS. After many uncredited or ‘additional voices’ roles providing facial motion capture, Bandai/Namco enlisted him for Performance Capture to create the role of Col. William Bishop in ACE COMBAT: ASSAULT HORIZON.
